“Such people don’t last long” Pete Edochie speaks on his grandson’s death, reveals his conversation with Yul over Kambili

Veteran actor, Pete Edochie has spoken out for the first time on his grandson’s death.



It was reported on Wednesday, March 29, that the young champ lost his life after developing a seizure while playing football with his school mates.


According to reports, Kambilichukwu was rushed to the Mother and Child Hospital, Lagos where he was pronounced dead.



Confirming the devastating news to Vanguard, Pete said Yul had called him on telephone to inform him of the incident.


Pete revealed that he and his family started praying for the child immediately Yul called them.


Speaking about the deceased, Pee Edochie revealed his late grandson exceptional qualities.




According to him, his grandson is a very quiet, brilliant and talented child. He isn’t somebody one can ride on easily and he doesn’t get angry no matter the situation.


He stated that the deceased was so accomplished and was an unusual person.


The legendary actor disclosed that he always told Yul that people like Kambili, who excel in everything they do, don’t last long on earth.


“Kambilinachukwu is a very quiet, brilliant and talented child. He’s not somebody you can ride easily. He doesn’t get angry no matter the situation.


He may change his composure, but he was definitely a very unusual person in so many respects. He was so accomplished. I always tell my son that I don’t like people excelling like this in any thing they are involved in. Experience has taught me that such people don’t last long”.


Nigerians dig up old video of Prophet predicting the death of Yul Edochie’s son


It was also reported that hours after the news of the death of Yul Edochie’s son broke out, Nigerians had dug up an old video of a prophet predicting his death.


The prophet identified as Prophet Samuel, the founder of Prophet Samuel King Ministries had predicted the death of Yul’s son in January.


In the resurfaced video, the prophet could be heard urging his church members to pray for the Edochie’s family as he can see death lurking around them.


Though the prophet didn’t mention Yul Edochie’s son, he hinted at a member of the famous family being laid to rest.


“Pray for Nollywood stars and family especially Pete Edochie’s family. The arrow of money is nearby”.

  A 12-year-old girl, Mmesoma Ani, has been admitted to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Surulere, after she was allegedly tortured by her aunt, Mrs. Ogechi Iruwane.  PUNCH Metro learnt that the mother of three allegedly used her bare hands to pinch off the victim’s chest, and inflicted injuries on her back.  Ani was also said to have been starved for two days for allegedly stealing a piece of meat.
